REGULAR EXERCISE

I believe that by now we know that the benefits of exercise is innumerable. Research from UCLA shows that exercise increased growth factors in the brain which makes it easier for the brain to grow new neuronal connections. Running has been proven to be an antidepressant and aside that, it has been shown to be associated with more cell growth in the hippocampus, a part of the brain responsible for learning and memory ( A study from Stockholm )

GOOD DIET

Many foods have been found to be linked with improved brain functions

– Leafy greens; vegetables. Vegetables like spinach, carrots, broccoli etc, contain abundant nutrients that help the brain.

– Coffee and tea: The caffeine in them really helps the brain

– Fatty fish: This is probably the most important food that helps the brain. Fatty fish like salmon, sardines, herring are a rich source of Omega-3 fatty acid which make up half of the fat in the brain. So, consumption of fatty fish will greatly help the brain.

– Others are proteins, fruits, nuts, dark chocolate.

So, a good, balanced diet, will greatly the brain.

MENTAL EXERCISES

From time to time, task the brain. Solve puzzles, jigsaw puzzles. You can decide to solve math problems without pen, paper or calculator, strictly your brain. Learn to pass new routes to places if there are, deliberately memorize stuff and try to remember. Just ensure that your brain is tasked often. Just like if you leave your muscles dormant, you’ll lose them, same with the brain.

ADEQUATE SLEEP
