Hey guys! I know it’s been a while since I posted and I’m sorry for that. In this post, I’ll be sharing with us tips on how to manage stress properly without having to deal with the crazy and annoying side effects. First, I’ll start by sharing with you the causes of stress.

• Financial issues – Money issues is one major thing virtually everyone worries about. Everyone wants money, so we all tend to get stressed in a bid to make money.

• Facing big changes – Change in environment, change in workplace, school, and other overwhelming changes that need one to adjust quickly can cause stress for someone.

• Being under pressure – Having to deal with pressure like academic or work pressure can cause serious stress. Exams for students and all that is a typical example of pressure that can cause stress.

• Having overwhelming responsibilities – Having to take care of a lot of issues, being responsible for one too many matters can be so overwhelming and can result in stress.

• Uncertainty, fear, anxiety and many others.

Pressure and too much work is bad.

Having mentioned causes of stress, here are some effects of stress:

• Sudden weight loss – Except you really want to lose weight, nobody likes to lose weight. Stress can cause weight loss, undoubtedly.

• Severe and regular headaches and body aches.

• Bad temper and irritability – Anger issues tend to be on the increase.

• Acne and wrinkles on the skin- Everyone wants smooth, glowing and beautiful skin but undergoing much stress will definitely stop one from achieving that aim as the skin can’t take much stress without reacting to it.

• Dull face

• Depression – Yeah, stress can even cause depression.

There are many effects of stress

Having mentioned the causes and effects of stress, I’ll now go to the main thing, HOW TO MANAGE STRESS.

• Exercise – You see, exercise is a great weapon that helps in many areas of our health and fitness. Exercising will put you in high spirit, proper mind state and active and healthy body condition which can prevent unnecessary stress. Exercise is a great weapon.

• Get good sleep (6-8 hours) – Having sound and good sleep puts the whole body and mind in a state of rest where one won’t have to think about things. Lengthy and quality sleep of about 6-8 hours can do the magic. Don’t ever deny yourself good sleep, regardless what’s going on, cos one can’t even work efficiently if he or she has not had good sleep as the brain would not be in the perfect state.

• Carve out time for your hobby – Is your hobby dancing, singing, tending flowers, playing musical instruments or anything? Anything you derive pleasure doing, don’t you leave those things out of your daily activities simply because you are so occupied. Research shows that people that have hobbies and do them are less likely to suffer from stress, bad mood and depression. So, carve out time for that beautiful hobby of yours.

• Praying – Praying is really a way of relieving stress. Knowing there is a supreme being that hears and answers you whenever you talk to Him is reassuring and can keep one calm and happy.

• Meditation – Observing a quiet time, meditating, either by reading God’s word (the Bible) and thinking on it, doing yoga, or whatever way it is you meditate is really great and helpful. It helps create some kind of inner peace within you that gives you joy. Quite wonderful! Meditating is really a good way to relieve stress.

• Give yourself a break – Give yourself a break, stay away from all those stressful activities if you can. Go on a vacation if possible, take a leave, just try to give yourself a break to refresh and get yourself together. It helps much.

• See a therapist if you can’t handle it yourself anymore – Seeing a professional can be of much help. He/she knows better and can take you through what to do and what not to do. The place of a professional cannot be underestimated. Visit one today if you have to.

• Surround yourself with things and people that will make you laugh. I’m sure you’ve heard that laughter is the best medicine. It’s definitely better to laugh than frown all the time. Laughter makes you happy and beautiful. Watch funny videos, read interesting stories on social media, read good books, and you’ll see great changes.

• Be contented with what you have. Don’t go around chasing things that seem impossible to get at the moment. Don’t be greedy. It’ll only build up more anxiety and stress for you. Be contented!

• Quit procrastinating. This dangerous thief of time will get you rushing to do things when there is no more time for it, causing a lot of stress for you. Take examination for example, start reading early, not when exams are in four days time. This is a major cause of stress that I have particularly suffered from. Don’t procrastinate, do it now!

• Eat well and right – Don’t deprive yourself of good food, as it will improve your health condition. Eat fruits, drink enough water, eat good food, stay away from junks, you don’t want to experience the side effects of junks. You are what you eat.

To conclude with, you got just one life to live, live it well, stay away from stress, take good care of yourself, do things that will benefit your life and you’ll see that everything will be fine.
