There’s a very big stereotype out there: “Slim people don’t need to workout”, “I’m slim, so what do I need to workout for?” Well, I come bearing news – SLIM PEOPLE NEED WORKOUT EVEN AS MUCH AS OBESE OR FAT PEOPLE.
This research by Israeli researchers shows that:
“Up to one third of people who think they have a healthy weight may actually be obese, a study suggests.”
“Israeli researchers, who examined data on 3,001 people, found around a quarter of men and nearly four in ten women who had a ‘healthy’ body mass index (BMI) had so much body fat that they should be classed as obese.”
So, it is actually possible to have a healthy body mass index, that is, you’re not outwardly fat, but it’s very possible to have so much fat in your internal system that is bad enough to cause health issues like type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure.
It is important to note that even some fat people who we think are unfit are healthier and fitter than some slim people. This is because the danger comes when the internal organs are surrounded by fat or when the vessels are clogged by fat. It is possible for a fat person to not have this challenge whilst a supposedly healthy person has fat all around his or her organs or even have their vessels clogged with fat.

It is also very important to note that EXERCISE IS NOT ONLY FOR WEIGHT LOSS. Check out my post on components of physical fitness. It properly explains the components of fitness .i.e. the factors with which you grade your fitness.
WHY DO SLIM PEOPLE NEED TO WORKOUT?
• Improving Immunity
Exercise is a very important factor in boosting the immune system. Moderate exercise for 60 minutes would be perfect for boosting the immune system. Exercise helps in better blood circulation, which then helps in the circulation of immune cells. This will ensure a quick attacking of germs and bacteria.
Exercising also helps one get quality sleep, thereby improving the overall state of the body.
Meanwhile, heavy exercising especially when one is sick may put too much stress on the body, thereby causing worsened health condition. Exercise aimed at Improving immunity must be moderately done.
• Improving Strength and Endurance
Exercise builds muscular strength and muscular endurance, which is very important for everyone, whether fat or slim. It improves efficiency in doing day-to-day activities and also sporting activities.

• Clearing Clogged Vessels
Exercises like running, brisk walking and cardio generally can help to unclog clogged vessels. Also, changing your lifestyle is very important, such as quitting smoking, alcohol and avoiding excess fatty foods.
Clogged vessels can lead to dizziness, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, nausea etc. Complete blockage can lead to high blood pressure and cardiac arrest. So, it is important to intentionally ensure the vessels are not clogged.
• Building Good Body Shape
It is quite important to work on your body shape. It helps improve your self-confidence and outlook. It also makes clothes fit you more. Engage proper exercising and quality diet and watch your body get transformed into what you really want.

BOTTOM LINE
Even slim people can suffer from diseases attributed to fat people. So, it is important to check yourself from time to time to ensure you’re not in the risk of any health issue. Do the right things: Eat well and healthily, exercise adequately, get quality sleep and drink plenty of water.
